My Birthday 2013...

This birthday was different than any other birthdays I've had before. It started off amazing because my oldest son that usually forgets my birthday every year was the first person to call and wish me a happy birthday! When I walked into the dinning room my daughter had laid out cards and a gift so pretty then the phone rang again and it was my youngest son. I couldn't believe it, both of them had called me before 11:00 am on my birthday without anyone reminding them.

Later my daughter got a call about her credit card and realized that she lost her wallet at CVS and someone was using her credit cards everywhere. On my birthday she had to run around closing all her account and trying to replace all her identification. How awful, and the money that she lost!

Later my cousin called to wish me a happy birthday but she was crying. When I asked what was wrong she told me that our younger cousin, Lynnette had died and left behind a husband and a two year old son. This was more than I could handle, what kind of birthday was this? How sad it was, but to add to it one of our other younger cousins that was very close to Lynnette like a sister had given birth to a son the day before Lynnette died. I don't think I've ever had a day this stressful but I still gave thanks for waking up this morning to see another day! Abundant Blessings...

It's That Time of the Year Again...

Monday July 29, 2013, is my birthday and in celebration my oldest daughter took me to the Naturalista Hair Show. It was my first time at this type of event and I saw some hair dos that were out of this world! Quite different than what I expected. Instead of having chairs for everyone to sit down and watch the hair show, we had to stand around until the models came out which was every 20 - 30 and in between there were vendors to visit. Here's a photo from the event that my daughter's 4 yr old son took of us. I know the best hair dos at the show!

Today is My 3 yr Anniversary as a Team Beachbody Coach!

Three years ago today I became an Independent Team Beachbody Coach! I never knew how much my life would change as a result of this opportunity. The wonderful people I've met, all the love and support from people I've never seen face to face has been mind blowing. I've been able to encourage, help, inspire and motivate so many people to get started on a HEALTHIER path which has truly been a BLESSING for them and for me!

FOCUS!

Last week I started Shaun T's new workout program call FOCUS T25 and I'm lovin' it! What it has made me realize is that I have some balance issues and I really have to FOCUS to get through them. While working out this evening I began to think about how important balance and FOCUS is in my life in general. The more FOCUSED I am the better I can set and achieve goals in my life. So over the next couple of months while I'm doing this program I'll be FOCUSING on every aspect of my life to bring it all into balance! Stay tuned and tell me how I'm doing. We Are More POWERFUL Together!

I borrowed this photo and the title of today's blog from the Lean In website at: http://LeanIn.Org/ that emphasizes the need for Lean In Circles. The foundation of Lean In has to do with women in workplace, women being treated equal in the workplace, women getting promotions with equal pay and so on. This photo, the title and a few other sentences seemed perfect for my HEALTH and Fitness Ministry.

I know personally what a struggle it was to lose the weight on my own and to change my way of eating alone when everyone around me were still eating everything they wanted. I know for a fact had I been a part of a group I would have achieved my goals so much faster. So, yes I believe "We Are Stronger Together" and that "We often achieve more in groups than we do as individuals.
